Your agreement is with The Rider Social. Below are the booking terms and conditions of your agreement so please read them carefully before you book. When you make a booking and we accept it, a legally binding contract is made.

Making a Booking & Payment

COVID-19 AND THE 2021 SEASON

Payment Policy: A deposit of 250€ is required immediately upon booking your session with The Rider Social. The balance of your trip costs are due 6 weeks before the course start date. Failure to meet the payment deadline 6 weeks before the start date will forfeit your place on that session without refund.

Cancellation policy: For cancellations made up to 6 weeks before the course start date, 50% of the ‘deposit’ amount paid will be refunded. For cancellations occurring within 6 weeks of the course start date no refund payments will be made.
If cancelling a course within 6 weeks of the course start date, payments made cannot be refunded, carried forward or moved to another course.

Refund policy: The Rider Social is not liable for refunds or compensation due to late arrival, failure to attend or complete a course due to injury or illness, travel restrictions, resort closure, adverse weather conditions, force majeure or any other causes or conditions outside the control of The Rider Social

Covid-19: In the event that you can’t attend your session due to Covid-19 associated travel and holiday disruptions including (but not exclusive to) resort closure, FCO imposed travel restrictions, airline train or ferry travel bans imposed by International or local governments, a total refund of the balance paid, minus the non refundable deposit amount, will be refunded to you (the client).

In the event that you can’t attend your course due to you, (the client) being personally affected by the Covid-19 virus (including illness, inability to travel due to illness or any other personal restrictions affecting your travel) The Rider Social will not be liable to refund any monies (as stated in the refund policy above). It is strongly recommended that you have adequate personal insurance for illness, personal cancellation and personal travel disruption.

Upon booking any advertised session of any duration with The Rider Social you are in agreement of the Payment & Cancellations policies listed above

All bookings are subject to these booking conditions. When you book a course with The Rider Social, you must pay 50% of total cost per adult as a deposit or the full payment of the course cost if booking less than 2 months before departure.

If balance of the course is not made in full and on time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and to apply the cancellation charges as set out below.

Payments made by card are taken in Euros, The Rider Social is not liable for any international transaction charge made by your bank.

The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age. If booking on behalf of  a group the party leader accepts responsibility for keeping all party members informed about booking details. Our agreement will be subject to French Law and to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French Courts.

Cancellation of your booking by any member of the party should be made by the party leader and inform us in writing immediately. Cancellation charges will apply per person as follows:

Cancellation by you

56 days or more 50% of deposit will be refunded
55-42 days 15% of course cost will be refunded
41 or less No refund will be made

Cancellation Charges will be calculated from the date of written notification of cancellation received by The Rider Social.

Cancellation by The Rider Social

The Rider Social reserves the right to cancel courses, in event of which you will be offered a full refund.

All courses require a minimum of 4 clients to operate the trip.  If we do not have a group of 4 people and the trip does not run then you will be offered a full refund.  The Rider Social will not be held liable for any expenses which you may have incurred as a result of the bookings such as flight costs.

Single/Empty Bed Supplements

A supplement will be payable if guests wish to book a single room or keep beds empty to ensure exclusive use of the chalet, equivalent to half the adult price for that week.

Liability

The Rider Social accepts no responsibility for events that cause delays or alterations by war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, closure or congestion of airports, ports, train stations or roads, technical problems with transportation, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions or similar events beyond the control of The Rider Social. All descriptions in the brochure that are made are given in good faith based on information believed to be correct at the time. Every effort will be made by The Rider Social to keep web site commitments, we reserve the right to alter operations out of our control.

The Rider Social does not accept liability for any injuries or mishaps to yourself or your equipment beyond the reasonable control of the guide.

Guiding

All guides working with The Rider Social are fully qualified to lead groups in the environment they are operating. They have the responsibility and the authority to make decisions based on the safety and well-being of the whole group. Should a client be asked to leave the group for any reason there will be no refund offered and The Rider Social will not be liable for any consequential expenditure.  Should a client choose to leave a group voluntarily guide and The Rider Social has no responsibility for your safety or any expenses incurred.

Due to the nature of the environment Guides may also have to change the itinerary of courses, course descriptions should be taken as examples and not as contractual obligations on the part of The Rider Social.

The advertised Guide for any advertised course may be subject to change. Any replacement Guide will be qualified to the same level as the Guide previously advertised.

Travel Documents, Passport & Visas

It is the guest’s responsibility to arrange and obtain any necessary passports and visas.

Insurance

It is a condition of our accepting your booking that you must take out an insurance policy which provides adequate cover for all foreseeable risks, including mountain evacuation. All policies should cover the entire period of your course and take effect BEFORE the date of the outbound travel. If, in the event of medical or other emergencies that the insurance cover that you have is not adequate it must be understood that you are responsible for the costs involved. We will offer all reasonable assistance.

Valuables & Documents

Clients are responsible at all times for personal documents, belongings and ski/snowboard equipment whether hired or not.

Behaviour

We reserve the right to terminate your course in the event that your behaviour or that of any member of your party is such that it is likely in our opinion to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance to our other clients, property or any third party. If you are prevented from because in the opinion of any person in authority you appear to be unfit to travel or likely to cause discomfort or disturbance to other passengers, we will have no further liability to complete your holiday arrangements, and will not be liable for any refund, compensation or additional costs incurred by you. All damages must be paid in full prior to leaving the accommodation.

Breakages and Damages

Any breakages or damages must be paid for in full by you before leaving the accommodation.

Smoking and Alcohol

In the interests of safety, smoking is not permitted in the any accommodation. However we request that alcohol is consumed in moderation on the premises.

Complaints

In the hopefully very unlikely event of there being something not to your liking whilst you are on holiday, you should immediately report it to us. We will naturally do our best to resolve any problems that you have and prevent them from spoiling your holiday. Unless there is a valid reason for not reporting the complaint to us, then we will not consider ourselves liable in respect of such complaints. If you remain dissatisfied, the complaint should then be recorded in writing on your return to the UK and sent to us within 28 days of the completion of your holiday. No liability can be accepted for claims not notified in that period, or if the claim has not been notified to us during your holiday.

Transfers, Arrivals & Departure Day

To benefit from inclusive transfers flights clients must be ready to leave Geneva airport at 3pm. Return transfer leaves Chatel at 10am.  For flights scheduled outside these hours clients will be required to arrange private transfers independently.

Special Requests

If you or any of your party has any special requirements you must inform us in writing when you book your holiday. This is to enable us to do our utmost to meet your requirements. However we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled and failing this will not constitute a breach of contract on our part.
