Split and Mix January 2015 with The Rider Social kicked off on January 17th. Leading up to it was interesting given the sparsity of snow in the Alps and we were busy planning routes that would make the most of what we had. However, two days before the start we were blessed with a decent dump of snow which alleviated some of the problems. A second bonus dump midweek meant we were on for a decent week.
The group size was 7 and all riders were of a high standard, experienced on splitboards and knew how to move safely on the mountain which made for an enjoyable week. Fortunately we didn’t need too much PTex for the boards at the end of it but some do bear a couple of decent tattoos!
The week culminated with a couple of days spent with our UIAGM guide Paul Verdier and we scored some fantastic snow. In fact every day the guys scored faceshots – you gotta love splitboarding!
Our next splitboard course starts on Monday and with the forecast showing insane amounts of snow due this weekend it could be one of the best yet.
