Paul & Fi decided to settle down in a bustling French village called Chatel after having worked seasons, travelled and sometimes even careered in different parts of the world

Just an hour and a bit from Geneva airport, sitting on the Swiss border, Chatel presented itself to them as a fabulous place to live.

Rubbing shoulders with giants such as Avoriaz and Morzine its sophistication, restaurants and ludicrously lively bars coupled with the sheer diversity of terrain in the Portes Du Soleil meant that they would always be able to find something new to ride and consequently be kept very happy.

After having worked hard to establish Alpine Retreat Chatel as their main chalet business they then turned their attentions to the thing that they are both truly passionate about and also saw missing from Chatel’s otherwise perfect offering…

Adhering to the ethos that riding with friends is better than not, and being aware that not everybody has a big crew of mates to snowboard with they gave birth to ‘The Rider Social’. It simply offers affordable snowboard only holidays to singles, couples and groups. The emphasis is on having fun, in rider progression and meeting likeminded people in a laid back environment.
